How to Look After Baby's Skin in Winter

The new Thea Baby Naturals range - 100% natural skincare for infants

My youngest son was born at 7am on the 26th December, about 5 days late. I went into labour on Christmas Day, fortunately very late in the day so my family were still able to enjoy the Christmas feast that my mother had prepared for us all! My baby came quickly and I was only in hospital for a couple of days.

I knew from the experience with my first child how to look after my new son's skin. For the first few weeks  I only used water to cleanse and bathe him, then after a few weeks I would add a single drop of Lavender Essential Oil to the tepid water and bathed him in that.

With both of my sons, once they were a few months old I began to introduce more skincare, using only natural skincare ingredients such as Olive and Coconut Oil. My mother used a lot of Coconut Oil when I was growing up so I was familiar with its beneficial skincare properties.

I would add a drop of Chamomile and of Lavender to their bathing water. These were the days when Natural and Organic Skincare Products such as the Thea Baby Naturals range were not readily available so if you wanted a natural alternative you had to make your own home-made concoctions!

Lavender is also great for pregnancy - a few drops in warm bath water can relieve muscle pain and tension, plus it is a fabulous ingredient for children who suffer from skin infections as well as being a great natural healer.

The rule to remember is never to use undiluted essential oils directly on the skin. One or two drops in tepid water or in a carrier oil such as Olive or Coconut Oil is generally sufficient to give the desired effect.

Thea Skincare products contain special blends of essential oils suited to different skin types.

Thea Baby Naturals the newest addition to the Thea Skincare range, containing essential oils, vitamins and natural moisturisers to protect and hydrate your baby's delicate skin.

All Thea Baby Naturals products are suitable for even the most sensitive baby skin and are pH balanced to suit the pH levels of both newborn and growing babies, giving them healthy, glowing skin.

All babies are special but there is something particularly joyful about having a Christmas Baby!
